VIVID AUSTRALIA

Today we are transferred from our home addresses anywhere in the greater Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch areas and taken to the airport to join our short flight to Australia.

On arrival in the cosmopolitan city of Sydney, we are met and transferred to our accommodation at the centrally located   Marriott Sydney.  Vivid Sydney is the largest event of its kind in the world bringing together artist, designers and manufacturers from all over the world to illuminate, interpret and transform Sydney’s urban spaces into a grand outdoor gallery.  Fabulous displays light up the night throughout the city and harbour and we are right in the midst of it all.

A leisurely start to the day with a delicious buffet breakfast. We then join our coach to enjoy the sights of Sydney. We drive through the historic Rocks area, cross  Sydney Harbour Bridge and have time for a stroll along  picturesque Manly Beach.

We return to hotel hotel early afternoon with time for a relax before joining our Tour Manager for dinner and a walk around the light installations.  This is a walk at your own pace and you can head back to the hotel when you are ready.

Enjoy breakfast and then we join our coach and travel through to the scenic Blue Mountains. We have included a ticket at Scenic World, Katoomba. Descend into the Jamison Valley on the world’s steepest train, the Scenic Railway, or glide on the Cableway past Orphan Rock and the iconic Three Sisters – you decide. Enjoy a stroll beneath ancient Rainforest canopy at your own pace along the 10 minute, *30 minute and *50 Minute Scenic Walkway. Return to the main building via the Cableway or the Scenic Railway. Glide past ancient sandstone cliffs, epic valley views and spectacular Katoomba Falls on a return trip on the Scenic Skyway. The Skyway stops on the east side of the valley, where you can jump off to explore Katoomba Cascades, Reid’s Plateau. We have time here to have some lunch (own expense).
We then head to Leura, a beautiful little town where we enjoy a wander at our own leisure before we meet at the Bygone Tearooms and Teapot Museum. Home of world’s largest private collection of teawares, including more than 5,500 teapots from all over the world and spanning five centuries, most items are on display in the Treasured Teapot Museum. We enjoy a Devonshire tea here before rejoining our coach for our return to Sydney.

Tonight join our Tour Manager for dinner and a walk through some of the fabulous light installations. (This walk is done at your own pace, and we would suggest you take a torch with you.)

Enjoy breakfast at your leisure.  The day is then yours to enjoy. Perhaps a visit to Taronga Zoo, the markets or Queen Victoria Building or one of the many galleries. Your Tour Manager will be there to offer suggestions.   Tonight, we enjoy a Dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour as we take in the magnificent lights lining the foreshore   This is a night for the cameras, and you will be enthralled by the stunning displays as you enjoy a lovely dinner  The perfect way to spend our last evening in Sydney                 

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning.   Time for some last minute shopping before being taken to the airport for our homeward flight.
